When I hear a children's book is being turned into a movie, I'm initially very excited. Then I begin to worry, really worry that they will ruin a beloved tale and turn kids off from it altogether. Either that, or they will change the story so much that it becomes virtually unrecognizable once Hollywood gets done with it. Having said that, I'm interested to hear that
The Giver by Lois Lowry is going to the big screen. It is supposedly i9n pre-production so no release date has been set. Here are a few other children's tales that are are rumored, in the process, or are becoming movies making their way to a theatre near you (eventually).
